NOTE: Meet Time Change to 9:00 AM due to the Heat
When: Sunday, July 5
Time: Meet at 09:00 am; leave at 09:15 am
Meeting Place: Mercer Island Park and Ride, North Mercer Way at 80th Ave. SE
Leader: Carl Swanstrom crs770@gmail.com
206-937-5086; day of ride cell 206-351-4655 (no texts)
Route length, difficulty, and description:
About 30 miles. Blue rating. Much of the ride is moderately hilly, and much is flat. You should know that you can ride 30 miles comfortably (not a wimpy ride). Moderate pace (I have no idea how fast I generally ride). There will be several rest/regroup stops. I will provide printed ride descriptions for the more adventuresome.
This is a fun ride which I have lead several times for the club, but not for several years. We will ride around Mercer Island clockwise, go across the I-90 bridge, ride south on Lake Washington Blvd. to Seward Park and circle the park, go north on Lake Washington Blvd.-Lakeside Ave., go up the hill to the I-90 bridge and across the bridge, and make the short return to the Park and Ride.
Lake Washington Blvd. south of the I-90 Bridge is closed to automobile traffic on this day.
Note: We may have lunch at the Blu Water Bistro in Leschi or we could have lunch on Mercer Island, after the ride, perhaps at the Roanoke Inn.
